A Beam-Steerable Wideband Reflectarray Antenna for C-band High-Power Microwave Application

A beam-steerable wideband reflectarray antenna (WRA) for C -band high-power microwave (HPM) application is presented in this paper. The WRA made up of a multimode conical horn with high power handling capacity (PHC), 25×25 special designed elements, metal frame and dielectric plate as radome. In our previous work, it has been verified that prototype using element relative bandwidth 50% (3.3-5.5 GHz) its beam scanning range reaches ± 60° low experiments. paper, combined the equivalent circuit model, PHC property further explained. To demonstrate excellent performance proposed HPM applications, we (which different from after redesigning) well-designed narrowband source operating at 4.3 GHz constructed matching experimental platform. works 4.1-4.5 GHz, results experiments indicate can maintain good during scanning. Its sidelobe level cross-polarization are always less than -15 dB –22 dB, respectively, while maximum aperture efficiency reached 68.99% (the corresponding gain 28.07 GHz). On other hand, 3.82 GW/m 2 1.24 GW simulation. verification have carried out, show fabricated exceeded expectation, which proves broad prospects fields.
